Theatre/Forensics

Course Purpose

The fundamentals provided through a theatre and forensics class are applied in all areas of life. Students will develop and communicate an awareness of self and society through drama. Theatre also assists students to gain insight into interpersonal relationships by developing the ability to join with and respond to others on stage. To achieve these goals, the students will learn essential skillls of theatre by demonstrating a knowledge of stage movement and direction, acting terminology, and blocking techniques. The student will also be able to develop a character by reading cues written in a script, making inferences beyond the text, and identifying mannerisms appropriate to the projected personality.
