Acacia Fraternity - Kansas State University: Due: Priority Deadline is December 18th at 5:00pm, applications accepted until January 8th at 5:00pm

It is my understanding that you do not have to pledge to be in the fraternity to receive this scholarship.  The following is a statement from the letter: “Acacia fraternity is an organizaiton founded on the pursuit of knowledge and leadership.  In that spirit, Acacia is awarding one leadership scholarship in the amount of $1000 and two in the amount of $500 to incoming male freshmen at Kansas State University.  Scholarship winners will be selected on the basis of merit as displayed in the application process as well as an interview, which will be scheduled later in the spring. “

American Chemical Society Scholars Program, Due: March 1, 2020

The ACS Scholars Program awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students majoring in undergraduate chemistry-related disciplines, and are also intending to pursue careers in chemistry-related fields. Selected recipients are awarded up to $5,000* per academic year. To date, over 3,000 students have received a funding from the ACS Scholars Program.

American Legion Scholarships

There are numerous scholarships in this link, so you will need to research what the deadlines are.

APIA Scholarship

The APIA Scholarship is open to Asian and Pacific Islander American students who'll be enrolling or are currently enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university as a degree-seeking undergraduate student in the fall of 2020. This year's application opened on September 4, 2019, and closes on January 22, 2020Learn more about the application process and minimum eligibility criteria.

AXA Foundation Scholarships

This website has links to two different scholarships.  One is the AXA Acheivement Scholarship and the other is the AXA Acheivement Community Scholarship. 

Bachus & Schanker Scholarship: There are two deadlines: November 30th for a January entry into college and July 30th for an August entry to college.

This scholarship is for students looking to get into law.  There is an essay required and this years topic is about the 7th Amendment.  Be sure to scroll down the page to read all the instructions.

Better Business Bureau (BBB) Integrity Scholarship Due: March 9th

The forms will have to be downloaded and it appears there are references you will need to acquire for this scholarship.  Be sure to read all the instructions.  There are some very specific instructions regarding how to format the essay that is required.  

BTI - John Deer Scholarship Program: I can not find a due date. If you want this type of help with schooling I would suggest doing it early, like before February.

BTI partners with colleges and technical schools to help aspiring Service Technicians obtain an education while getting hands-on experience in our dealership. The knowledge you will gain in the classroom and the on-the-job skills you will learn in John Deere’s two-year associate degree Ag Tech Program can put you on a path to build a successful and rewarding career at BTI.

Buick Achievers Scholarship/Engineering in the Automotive Industry: Due Feb. 27th

This scholarship is for high school seniors planning on enrolling full time in the 2015-2016 school year and current undergraduates who are studying in the Engineering field.

Capital Auto Auction Scholarship - STEM Scholarship Due: August 15th

Qualifications To qualify, undergraduate students must be majoring in a STEM field of study (or related field) as well as attending an accredited college or university. Deadline The deadline to apply for the 2020 Capital Auto Auction Annual College Scholarship is August 15, 2020. Winners will be announced August 30, 2020.

CHS Foundation Scholarships: Due March 31st

There are numerous scholarship opportunties at this website.  Some are for high school seniors and some are for students already in college.  

Community Groth - Due July 31st
  1. Must have a G.P.A. of 3.0+
  2. Fill out the form with your contact information
  3. Attach school transcript to verify enrollment or submit any document to help us know you are currently enrolled or have been accepted to a college or university in the United States.

Daughters of the American Revolution National Scholarships, Due Feb. 15th READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS

This website has numerous scholarships for graduating seniors and students who are entering their professional levels in college.  Each scholarship lists a different person to e-mail the application to, so be sure to read through the website to make sure of where to send the application and all supporting documents.  

Daughters of the American Revolution, State Level Scholarships: Due: Feb 1st, these are e-mailed

The link should take you to the Kansas State Information Packet (SIP) page.  Scroll way down on the page until you get to a section titled: National Committees.  Now look for DAR Scholarships, there you will find links to more information and how to apply.  These applications will need to be e-mailed to certain people, so be sure to read the instructions.  

Association of Educational Office Professionals - Margaret Van Horn

Deadline: April 4th.  This is for students enrolling in at least 9 hours.

Farmers Coop Equity Company - Isabel, Ks - Ag. Scholarship Due: April 1st

The application can be accessed through this website.  It's over on the left hand side of the page, under FCE Isabel, the 4th link down.  They would like it filled out through the website and sent in to them. 

Evergy Craft Scholarships; Renewable, Deadline March 1st, 2020, there is a two step process to this and both parts must be completed by March 1st.

There are 9 different craft (job related) scholarships in this one application process.  You must fill out the first scholarship on the website and then a second one from the Ellis Foundation will be sent to you and it also has to be completed.  Requirements for the scholarshp are: 1. resident of Kansas or Missouri, attending a Kansas or Missouri high school. 2. Must be graduating from high school in the year you fill this out. 3. Must be pursuing a degree in electric power and distribution, power plant technology, wind or renewable energy, industrial tech or other industry-related degrees. 4. Must be eligible to obtain a CDL license. 5. If 18, must be willing to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record Check (drug free, no DUI convictions).  

Evergy Lineman Scholarship: Due March 1st, 2020. This application process has two steps, read below.

This application is below the Craft Scholarships on the page, scroll down a bit.  Click on the “+” sign and it should open up revealing all the qualifications and the link to the application.  This application process has two steps, first is the application with Evergy, then the Ellis Foundation will send you an application for them.  You must have both applications completed by March 1st, 2020.   Selection process is: 1. Submit both applications. 2. Participate in a personal interview to be scheduled later between March 16th – 20th. 3. Attend a mandatory one day Lineman Prep Day to be determined for a Saturday in April – June after scholarship are awarded. Location for this event is in Topeka, Wichita or Kansas City, MO. 

Evergy Power Plant Perator/Wind Energy Tech Scholarship. Due March 1st, 2020. There is a two step process to the application. Read below.

Scroll down the website page until you find the Power Plant Scholarship “+”.  Click on the + and it should open up to tell you more about the scholarship and give a link to the application.  The application process has two steps.  Fill out the application at Evergy’s website and then another application should come to you from the Ellis Foundation.  You must have both applications completed by March1st, 2020.  The selection process is: 1. Submit both applications.  2. You must attend a mandatory one-day job shadow and participate in a personal interview.  Job Shadows are between March 1st -31st at one of the following locations: Jeffrey Energy Center in St. Mary’s, Ks, Flat Ridge Wind Farm in Nashville, Ks, or Central plains in Marienthal, Ks.  

Final Fantasy Fan Scholarship: Due December 15th, 2019

YES, you read that right!  If you enjoy the Final Fantasy game franchise, this might just be the scholarship for you!  Be sure to read all the information and instructions.  There is an essay with this one and the quality of it is what determines if you get the scholarship.  

Future of Assisted Living - Due December 31st.

The annual scholarship award is for three (3) students enrolled in an associate's degree, bachelor's degree or graduate level program at an accredited 2-year college or 4-year university during the 2017-2018 academic year.

GE- Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program: Due January 4th

The program selects roughly 20 college-bound student swho excel in leadership, drive, integreity, and citizenship to receive $10,000 renewable scholarships- up to $40,000 total per recipient.

Grow Ag Leaders (Monsanto) Scholarship: Application is open now, Due Feb 1st, 2018

Grow Ag Leaders asks farmers to endorse high school seniors or college students for a chance to win a $1,500 scholarship to support their higher education studies in ag-related fields.

Hagan Scholarship

This scholarship can be very rewarding.  There are many steps to it.  The first is the application process with a deadline of November 15th.  You have to submit directly to them.

Haviland Telephone Co. Due April 7th, we will mail by March 31st to ensure delivery

This is for students who are in the companies service area. 

Herb Clutter Scholarship

This scholarship is for $500. Applicants of the Herb Clutter Memorial Scholarship must complete the scholarship application, which includes a 400-500 word essay discussing why they have chosen to pursue a career in agriculture. The selection committee will use this essay along with the student’s application in determining the scholarship winner. The scholarship and attached documents must be submitted to the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers at 1990 Kimball Ave, Manhattan, Kansas by  February 26, 2016.

Horatio Alger Association

Deadline: October 25th:  Mrs. Hegler has some information in her office if you need it. Criteria: 1. Be enrolled full-time as a high school senior on track to graduate in May 2015 and plans to enter a colege in the United States no later then the fall following graduation. 2. Strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelors degree. 3. Demonstrate a critical financial  need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required). 4. Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities. 5. Display integrity and perserverance in overcoming adversity. 6. Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 7. Be a United States citizen.

Horatio Alger Career & Technical School Scholarship

This scholarship is not due until June 15th.  You must create a username and password at the site to access the application. This scholarship is for technical certificate programs.  

Hutchinson News Journalism Scholarship Due: March 15th

This link will show you what all you need for the scholarship.  There is a better printable version over on the Scholarship page that doesn’t look like a page out of the newspaper.  

Institute for Supply Management of Wichita: Due March 15th

This scholarship is for students looking to go into Supply Management careers.  This scholarship needs to be downloaded, filled out and either mailed or scanned as one file to the appropriate destination.  Instructions are at the website and in the application proccess instructions.

JAG Students: Kenneth M. Smith : Due date: Feb. 20th

This scholarship is designed for students who have been enrolled in our JAG program at Kingman High School.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarshp

This scholarship rewards excellence by supporting high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend the nation's best four-year colleges and universities.

Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship - Due March 31st to the Virginia office

This scholarship used to be in paper form, but is now available on a website.  It is still due on March 31st.  You will need to mail it prior to that date to make the deadline of having it to their Virginia office by March 31st.

Jim Kincaid Memorial Scholarship Due: June 30th

This scholarship is for any male attending KSU at the Manhattan campus.  

Kansas County Clerks and Election Officials Scholarship: Due April 1st.

I used to deliver this scholarship to the County Clerks office.  The instructions this year are for the applications to either be e-mailed or mailed.  I will still have an envelope in the office to collect the applications packets but the due date is pulled up so there is enough time for mailing.  

Kansas CPA Scholarships: Many differing Due Dates.

This website not only has a scholarship for current high school seniors going into Accounting or CPA majors, it also has scholarship applications for current college students who are already in the programs.  Pay close attention to the deadline dates of everything that must be turned in.  

Kansas Dept. of Education Association of Education Office Professionals: Due April 10th

This scholarship requires more then just filling out the appication.  If you are interested, make sure you read all the directions and have all the supporting documents to KSDE by April 10th.  

Kansas Environmental Health Association Due: February 28th

You must mail this application with it’s supporting documents to the address on the application.

Kansas Grain and Feed Association/KGFA Due: March 6th before 5:00pm

This link will take you to a page that tells you about the scholarship.  Scroll all the way down and there will be a link to the application.   You must submit this electronically to them.

Kansas Womens Golf Association - Due March 15th

This website has a couple of different scholarships for students who golf.  Students DO NOT need to be on the high school golf team.  Students do have to be a member, Junior member or Associate member of the Kansas Womens Golf Association.  There are numerous other criteria listed on the website for the different scholarships.  These scholarships are due by March 15th.  

Kansas Seed Industry Association

Deadline: April 6th: Please email the applications to  If you turned in your application prior to spring break I will get it to them.

Kansas Assoc. of Directors of Plant Facilities

This scholarship is for students who's parents work in a position of supporting buildings.  Janitorial, facilities technicians, transportation, anything that supports building facilities.  Due: February 15th.

Kansas Masonic Lodge Scholarships

There are numerous scholarships at this link.  The scholarship link is available from October 1st, 2019 to March 31st, 2020.  You will need to click on the green scholarship tab at the left of the first screen, then scroll most of the way down the page to start reading about the different scholarships.  Each scholarship has a blue highlighted clickable link at the end of the explianation.

KACRAO Scholarship

Deadline: March 15th.

Kelly Lynn Lutz Scholarship Foundation - Due: January 10th

This scholarship is for students who have lost a parent to cancer.  It is a renewable scholarship.

KSU - Acacia Fraternity Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship is for young male students who are looking at attending Kansas State University and are interested in the principes of leadership.  There is a priority deadline of December 18th at 5:00pm with a hard deadline date of January 8th at 5:00pm.  

KSU - Delta Chi Due: March 25, 2018

KSU Phi Kappa Theta Man of Faith, Due: February 7th, 2017

Students do not have to pledge to this fraternaty to apply for this scholarship.  This is one you will need to put together and send yourself.  (This scholarship used to be posted on the other scholarship page, but they are no longer sending the application out, so it’s all on the web site.)

Lori Dechant Physical Disability Scholarship: Due March 1st

This one is specifically for students with physical disabilities who plan on attending a university.  

MKC Cooperative: Due March 1st, 2020.

This scholarship is for any student who’s parent or grandparent is a member-owner of MKC or an employee of MKC/TMA. (This is an agriculture coop based out of Moundridge.)  This scholarship is for high school seniors or a current college student in the first, second or third year of school.  

Monsanto/FFA Americas Farmers Grow Ag Leaders

This scholarship are for students who are looking at pursuing any degree related to agriculture.  DUE: February 1st. Read ALL the terms and conditions.  There are a lot of pieces to this scholarship.  

O'Brate Foundation

Please read all the instructions with this application process.  There are some specifics regarding reference letters and transcripts. This scholarship is needs based but the scale is a bit different.  Due: May 1, 2018.

Pottroff & Karlin Law Firm Scholarship: You do not have to seek a law degree. Due: August 1st.

To qualify for this scholarship:

  1. You must be a high school senior or college freshman from the United States. 
  2. You must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.

Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program: Due January 5th, 2017

Honoring the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th President, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education.

Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Awards are for undergraduate study and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. In addition, Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program.

Ron Brown Scholarship - Early deadline November 1, Regular deadline Jan. 9th

African American high school seniors are encouraged to apply for the Ron Brown Scholarship by either the early deadline of November 1, 2019, or the regular deadline of January 9, 2020. Named for the late secretary of commerce and inspired by his dedication to public service, the Ron Brown Scholar Program offers a $40,000 scholarship to up to 30 African American high school seniors each year based on academic excellence and commitment to public service. Recipients are young African Americans of outstanding promise who are offered intensive mentorship, service opportunities, leadership experiences, and extensive professional development throughout all stages of their careers.

Applications must be mailed to the Ron Brown Scholar Program office with a postmark dated no later than January 9, 2020.

Rudd Foundation: Application open Oct. 8th to December 14th

This scholarship is for students who qualify for a pell grant and attend Fort Hays, Emporia State, or Wichita State University.

Science Ambassador Scholarship, Due: December 9th, 2019

This scholarship is for students entering any STEM undergraduate program.  The website does not indicate this is only for women, but all the pictures and past winners listed seem to be women.  Be sure to scroll down to the winners and look at their videos.  These are good examples of what you would need to do for yours.  

Skyland Grain: Open now for the 2018-19 school year: Due April 1st.

There are different scholarships at this site.  Pay attention to which one you are wanting to apply for.  When you get to the websites page, look for “Programs” on the left hand side.  Hover over the word “Programs” and it should pop up to see the 3 diffeent scholarships.  

State Bank Commissioner of Kansas Due: April 1st.

The Office of the State Bank Commissioner, the Kansas Insurance Department, and its division, the Office of the Kansas Securities Commissioner are sponsoring an essay contest to award up to five scholarships to Kansas high school seniors who, through school course, independent study, and personal experience, have gained an understanding of money management and can demonstrate that knowledge and the importance it will have in their future.

Student Instights/Student-View Scholarship Program

This scholarship seems to be nothing more than helping this company gain information from high school students about their knowledge of colleges in their area.  You will be required to take a survey that will then get you placed in a drawing for the different levels of scholarships.  If you feel that the survey is going to sign you up to receive spam type information, then get out of it and don’t submit.  I was not able to see the actual questions.  

Westar Energy Scholoarships

Applications can be found at by clicking on “Scholarship Opportunities” under the Community Programs tab located at the bottom of the home page.  There are more then one scholarship at this website, so search around.  Deadline date: March 1, 2016


This website looks like a good resource, but it also has a scholarship on it.  You have to scroll down a ways on the first page to find the scholarship link.  Deadline is December 1st.

Yes for Liberty Constitution Bee

This scholarship opportunity is a competition situation.  You must apply to see if you get to go compete.  The application opens on Sept 17th, due to the organization by Dec. 31st and the competition is held on March 4th in Manhattan, Ks.  

South Central Community Foundation Due: March 16 at 4:00pm (I will mail on March 12th by noon to ensure delivery on time.)

These applications opened on January 1st and will close March 15th.  This website has 6 different scholarships for students at Kingman High School and there is one scholarship available to our students in the Multi-County category.  Be sure to read the Guidelines for each scholarship along with filling out the application.  All scholarships need to be filled out/typed from this website, printed and then have the added documentation with it, prior to mailing/delivery.  I will pick them up in the school office on March 7, after that date students will need to mail their applications directly to the foundation. They must be received by the foundation by March 15th at 3:00pm.
